Alfie and Millie were born 9th July 2008, Alfie weighed 6.9lb and Millie was 6.1lb. We had been told
that there was a problem with Alfie's little heart, but it was not until he was born and a week
later did the doctors discover that little Alfie had many other problems.
Alfie was born with Half heart syndrome, two other heart conditions, no spline, his stomach was on
the wrong side and he had fluid on his lungs, not the best deck of cards to be dealt, but to look at
him he was perfect.
At Birmingham's Children Hospital, My sister asked me why? All I could say was "I don't know, but
the way I see it. Is Alfie had to see that his Sister was ok and you were ok, and now he has to go
and make everything nice up there for when we go, and when it is your time he will be the first
person you will meet"
Alfie was and is our perfect little man. He was such a calm little baby, never made any real fuss,
only a little cry when he was hungry. I make more noise at meal times!!.
Alfie made his time here a lovely one, luckly he was not hooked up to any machines, he did not have
to have any meds to help him through the final moments and when he did pass away, he did it in his
own perfect little way. His mommy put him down to sleep and got his sisters ready for Grandma's, so
while she was busy he drifted away calmly and peacefully.
Alfie was only with us and his twin Sister Milly for such a short time, but such a wonderful time.
Millie will always have a part of her brother with her, as she was named Millie Alfie May. Millie is
as perfect as her brother and doing very well. She is just as calm and loving as her brother, She
has one of the best smiles for a 3month old. I could watch her all day.
Little Alfie you may have had a weak heart, but it was strong enough to touch so many people, we are
very lucky to have known you and so lucky to have had one whole month of your lovely cuddles. I miss
you looking up from my shoulder, See you Laters mate. Love you xxx
On behalf of my sister I would like to thank all the nurses at Birmingham Children's Hospital, also
Shrewsbury and Telford hospital for taking such great care of this little family, they do a
wonderful job with little reward.
The evening Alfie fell asleep a piece of me ( his mommy) died too, you can always keep that with you
so you will always have your mommy with you my sweet baby boy.

My birthday (way up here).

God planned a special day for me,
